Dental emergencies don't wait for the dentist to be in his office. Here is a guide to what to do when you need Dr. Jones and aren't sure whether to call his emergency line.

When to call Dr. Jones and when to wait until the morning

If you have one of the following conditions, you should call Dr. Jones right away:

• Facial Swelling
• Severe tooth pain
• Broken teeth from an accident

If you have one of these conditions, please wait until the office opens in the morning:

• A small chip on a tooth
• A filling that falls out and is not overly painful
• A crown that comes unseated and is not overly painful
• Slight or moderate tooth pain that subsides with over-the-counter- pain medication allowing you to sleep through the night
